Privacy Policy — 2048

Developer: oAuth Inc.  ·  Last updated: July 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how oAuth Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the 2048 mobile application (the "App").

Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information directly. Your score, game history and progress are saved locally on your device (using the device's built-in SQLite storage). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Advertising

The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized ads, including:

  • Advertising ID (Android Ad ID)
  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • Approximate location (based on IP address)
  • App usage and interaction data

This data collection is governed by Google's own privacy policies. For more information, please review:

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

Permissions

The App requests the following permissions:

  • INTERNET — required to load and display advertisements.
  • CAMERA — used only to scan a friend's QR code when starting an Adventure challenge. The camera feed is processed on-device and never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
  • MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS — used to play short in-app sound effects (swipe, merge, win, game over) at the correct volume.
  • VIBRATE — used for haptic feedback during gameplay.
  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — used only when you choose to share your result card image (e.g. via the system share sheet); the image is generated on-device and not uploaded anywhere by us.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Data Retention

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no data retention on our part. Your locally stored best score can be removed at any time by uninstalling the App.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
